Some Optimism for Saturday

April 28, 2012

Poetry month is almost over, and I will not let it go to waste! So let’s have a little sunshine today–whaddaya say?

Sometimes

Sheennagh Pugh

Sometimes things don’t go, after all,
from bad to worse. Some years, muscadel
faces down frost, green thrives; the crops don’t fail,
sometimes a man aims high, and all goes well.

A people sometimes will step back from war,
elect an honest man; decide they care
enough, that they can’t leave some stranger poor.
Some men become what they were born for.

Sometimes our best efforts do not go
amiss; sometimes we do as we meant to.
The sun will sometimes melt a field of sorrow
that seemed hard frozen: may it happen for you.

Nice. Optimistic enough. Wish I had known it was poetry month.

Glad I waited till Sunday to read this. Just the right words at the right moment. Sometimes I get so focused on what’s wrong that I forget to look around at all that’s right. Thank you for this rainbow — tears and a smile at the same time.

I read this post yesterday morning via email right before I headed out to 2 soccer games in the freezing wind and rain. Pretty hard to remain optimistic when you’re freezing your ass off! I tried though, how I tried!

Beautifully crafted words – and optimistic, yes, but it also felt like a good push to be better.

The sun will sometimes melt a field of sorrow
that seemed hard frozen – really love this line. -one I needed to hear.

I needed this today, just that last line: the wish that it happens for me, the unfreezing, the betterness from the sun (and wishing same to anyone else going through the absolute shittiest time of shit covered shit). I needed it. Thank you.

Hello! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing many months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any methods to protect against hackers?
