Venice bound!

May 24, 2014

Viva Italia, readers!

We begin our Italian adventure in historic (or sinking and stinky, depending on your point of view) Venice.  Apparently, it’s very easy to get lost along the twisting and winding streets, so we’ll keep our map handy and hope for the best.

We’re staying here.  Supposedly, it’s a beautiful hotel–check out the rooftop bar!

I imagine we’ll be plopping down plenty of euros there!

I don’t anticipate doing any shopping in Venice; it’s mainly known for hand-blown glass, which I don’t really have much interest in. Plus, who wants to lug around delicate glass-thingys for two weeks?  I’m pretty sure I can’t be trusted with delicate glass-thingys.

I hope to check in every few days, either in this spot or on Facebook/Twitter (even though I suck at Twitter!) I’ll try to do better, I promise.

Ciao for now!

Have an amazing time! That looks like a gorgeous hotel. So much ornate history in one city. Soak it all up! Hoping the travel gods are merciful and your trip is a dream.

Safe travels! If the 1994 romantic comedy Only You is to be believed, the Hotel Daneili is supposed to be a very, very lovely place–Bing Crosby stayed there, after all.

Eat lots and lots of cicchetti (that’s Venice’s version of small plates/tapas/bar food) and then make sure to find some fabulous carbonara or cacio e pepe in Rome. :)
