Pasta is Not the Enemy

December 8, 2010

Hi readers! Click here to read why Pasta is Not the Enemy. I am so thrilled and honored to be posting at BodyBloggerCalendar today, promoting healthy body image. As someone who’s struggled to love the skin I’m in, and as a mother of growing girls, this is an issue very close to my heart.

Thank you, gentle readers, for being here.

The photo alone was worth the trip over :)

I agree about the photo!

Being the dad of 3 girls the subject is important to me to. Kris and I are learning to watch what we say about our own bodies. The kids pick up on too much too soon.

Dana,

You’re a doll. Those eyes. I think they see right through me. And feed me. Thank you.

I loved that picture too. Such an important message for many women (and men) to hear again and again. We all need to love and take care of our bodies. Pasta is one way that I do that! Thank you for sharing. I hope you have a lovely afternoon, my friend!

That picture says everything. Imagine what kind of following you could drum up for other foods with this kind of photography! (I saved the more serious comment for the BBC11 site, but I’m just sayin’, based on what I’ve read over there, fans would eat their brussels sprouts if you posted images of them and you with such moxie.)

I agree with Barbara…the picture was worth the trip.

I just watched Eat Pray Love for the first time yesterday. I love the scene where she is Naples, Italy when she said she spent half her life counting every calorie she consumed, then laid in bed and night and felt guilty. She was no longer willing to accept the guilt…she was going to accept her body and enjoy her food.

This scene spoke volumes to me. Live life…enjoy your food…and buy bigger jeans.

Pasta may not be the enemy, but for me it is an interesting friend who I generally need to take along with me on a nap to get over enjoying it so much.
