A Dream

September 10, 2011

Hi Beautiful Readers,

I’m packing and organizing and trying to contain my excitement for my 2 1/2 days and 2 nights here.

I’m also annoying the crap out of my husband by leaving detailed lists like this:

We leave Sunday (yep–we’re flying on September 11th). A girl has to do what she’s gotta do.

In accordance with the much-publicized Talusani vacation curse, I woke at 3:30am Friday with a nasty stomach bug. Violent little shit, that bug. I was so upset and worried that I’d have to cancel our trip, but happily, I feel much better today and by Sunday, I should be tops. Unless I catch Miss M.’s cold, which she came down with last night.  Ah, the joys of back to school. The beginning of germ warfare.

Mama and I wish you all the best of weekends, and the beginning of the week. All we plan to do is spa, nap, read, walk by the water, eat delicious food and laugh. You all will be close in my thoughts; in fact, I imagine you’ll be right there with me.

Much love,

Of course you are going to Dana Point! It is only fitting! I have heard nothing but amazing things about that resort. Enjoy every minute of it and soak up the warm ocean breezes for me! xoxo

Throw a starfish back into the ocean for me!

Have a wonderful time! Enjoy the time together, relax, read some, nap much. Can’t wait to read all about it! And I love the lists. I make them too. He ignores them. Probably yours will too, but it all works out in the end.

I believe those detailed notes *might* actually be followed! You know what’s sad? It’s my hubs who has to write those to me. Especially the homeless part. I’m pretty sure I’m the worst SAHM ever. ; )

Katybeth September 10, 2011 at 3:58 pm

Wait does this mean we don’t get to go? You are leaving us behind like a wet, sandy beach towel? Could we at least have a picture??
Have a wonderful time, enjoy every minute and let the germs fall where they may at home….Orphans are very endearing.

Looks like all your ducks are in a row! Have a great time! And I know how you feel, my husband takes my daughter to school after I have gone to work and many times I asked…”Daddy let you go to school like that?” :)

Maria September 10, 2011 at 5:18 pm

Have wonderful time with Mama! The place looks like heaven on Earth…May your days (and nights) be bug-free and your travels be safe, friend.

BTW, the few times I have left the hubs alone with the kids overnight, the lists are endless. Mine are usually detailed by child and include itineraries…Just sayin’ great minds think alike…

Enjoy this special time. You BOTH deserve it! ((you))

1. I love the “don’t let them look homeless” note. I totally need to leave detail notes like that next time I leave the boys with their father.
2. I shouldn’t have looked. Now I’m envious.
3. Oh, wait. I’m going to Vegas in Oct. Without kids! And I’m getting there early before my friend so I can hit the spa alone because being alone is now a luxery.
4. I’m doing this list thing tonight. Hope you don’t mind.
5. Have a blast! You and your mom deserve it!

Tinne from T and T September 12, 2011 at 4:32 am

Have a blast!
But on the side, the ‘do not let them look homeless’, isn’t that asking a bit much, after all your husband is only human…
